Data storage – module overview

The Data storage module is used to manage company documents and files in a folder structure. It lets you create folders, upload files, track file versions, and view change history (who uploaded or updated a file and when). Access and write permissions depend on the “Data storage” module permission – users with permission can add folders and files; others may have read-only or no access.

Why use data storage

A single place for company documents simplifies backup, sharing within the tenant, and knowing where things are. File versions let you revert to an older version or compare changes. The history (log) shows who uploaded a file or uploaded a new version.

What the module offers

  • Folders – tree structure of folders in the left panel. Create a new folder (name), select a folder to show its contents (files) on the right.
  • Files – in the right panel, list of files in the selected folder: name, size, modified date, modified by. Search within the folder. Actions: download, history (log), new version, remove.
  • Upload file – select folder and upload a file (optional display name). The file is saved in the chosen folder.
  • Versions – for versioned files you can upload a new version and view or download older versions. The current version is marked.
  • History (log) – for each file, a list of entries (upload, new version, who, when).

Accessing the module

In the sidebar menu, select Data storage. If the module is not in the menu, check in Settings or with your administrator that your tenant has the Data storage module license enabled and that you have the required permission (at least read).
